God Hates Pride

One of the sins that God hates is pride. It's hard to let a proud person see themselves because they think that they are always right and everybody else is wrong. A proud person always gets upset when things don't go their way or if they are challenged by someone who sheds light on their prideful self. They act like the world should revolve around them and will throw a temper tantrum when it doesn't. They do not make good partners in business, ministry, or relationships because every time something happens that steps on their pride, they change jobs, churches, and wives/husbands. These types of people are miserable even by themselves. They hate to live alone but can't seem to be happy and content with somebody else either. They usually have to be the one to call all the shots and will criticize other's ideas. Prideful people refuse to humble down because they see it as them laying down and being a puppy dog for others to rule, dominate, and control. They are blinded to the fact that humility is an act of showing strength and pride is an act of showing weakness. The bible says pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit is before a fall. What hurts people who care about proud folks is that we can see the fall and destruction coming and try to warn them but they refuse to listen for thinking that we are trying to control them. It's sad to see prideful people in that state because we know that only God can get their attention and when he does it's going to be bad.
